Voice cloning: clone your voice and narrate new scripts
Voice cloning turns a recording you are allowed to use into a reusable voice identity. In Voice Studio you upload a short voice sample or record one with your microphone, then narrate new scripts in that same voice. It suits teams who publish introductions, courses and product content in one consistent voice without recording every script again.
What voice cloning is, and who it is for
Voice cloning creates a voice identity from a recording you own or have permission to use. Once that identity exists, new scripts can be read in the same voice, without going back to the microphone each time.
It fits trainers, founders, marketing and support teams who publish content in their own voice. Voice Studio is one of Voxlin’s two products; the other is Voice Agents, which speak on the phone and web and chat over WhatsApp and web. Both share one account and one credit balance.
From a recording to a voice identity: how it works
For the audio source you can upload an audio file or make a new recording with your microphone. A short sample is enough; the studio walkthrough runs on a 10-second voice sample.
Adding the words in your recording is optional: the text can be created automatically, or you can type it yourself. Once the recording is transcribed and the voice characteristics analyzed, your voice identity is ready. You pick the output language, write new text and create the narration.
Use cases by sector
A cloned voice helps with content that would otherwise need the same narrator back at the microphone every time. Common uses:
- Brand voice: narrate introductions, ads and social content in the founder’s or presenter’s own voice.
- Multilingual narration: read the same script in your own voice across supported languages for new markets.
- Training material: keep lessons, onboarding and e-learning modules current in the trainer’s voice.
- Product updates: turn ecommerce campaigns and release announcements into audio quickly.
- Travel and hospitality: prepare villa, hotel and destination introductions in one voice, in several languages.
- Accessibility: offer a listenable version of written guides, frequently asked questions and notices.
Voice identities, languages and authorized use
The voice identity you create stays in your account, so you select it from the list for later work. Output languages include Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Greek, Czech, Romanian and Hungarian.
A voice identity may only be created from recordings you hold the rights to, or for which you have the person’s explicit consent. A voice is part of that person’s personal rights; imitating a person or an organisation without permission breaks the terms of service.
- Neighbouring tools: text to speech works with library voices, while voice design builds a new voice character from your written description.
- Recording text: the cloning flow can extract the words you said automatically, and a separate speech to text tool handles meeting and conversation recordings.
- Output: listen to the narration and download it for your video, course or project.
- Content ownership: the recordings you upload and the narration you create stay yours, and are not used to train general-purpose models without your written consent.
Credits and the free trial
Voice cloning draws on the credit balance shared by both products. Saving a voice clone uses credits, and narration made with that voice is charged separately. The same balance covers text to speech, speech to text and agent conversations.
Subscription plans include credits for each period, and an extra credit pack adds more without changing your plan. The free trial starts you off with signup credits and no credit card. Current plans, credit amounts and unit rates are in the pricing section.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the recording for voice cloning need to be?
A short voice sample is enough; the studio walkthrough runs on a 10-second recording. What matters is a clean sample: no background noise, no music, no other speakers, and your natural speaking pace. Upload an existing audio file or record a new one with your microphone.
Can I clone someone else’s voice?
Only when you hold the rights to the recording or have that person’s explicit consent. A voice is part of someone’s personal rights, and imitating a person or organisation without permission breaks both the terms of service and the law; responsibility rests with the account holder. Get and document consent before uploading.
Which languages can I use my own voice in?
Once your voice identity is ready, you choose the output language and have new text read in the same voice. Supported languages include Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Greek, Czech, Romanian and Hungarian. No new recording is needed to switch to a language other than the one you recorded in.
Do I have to type what I said in the recording?
No, that field is optional. With automatic text creation on, the recording is transcribed for you; switch it off and type what you said yourself. Either way, once the voice characteristics are analyzed you pick an output language and narrate new text in the same voice.
