Call center automation: the agent handles repetitive calls, your team takes the rest

If you run a support line that rings all day, most calls arrive with the same three or four questions: appointments, order status, availability, prices. Voxlin Voice Agents handle those repetitive calls end to end, close each one with a result, and leave the rest to your agents.

Who an AI call center is for

Call center automation means an AI agent runs the repetitive part of your inbound and outbound calls, while exceptions stay with people. At Voxlin that is the job of Voice Agents: agents that speak on phone and web and message on WhatsApp and web.

This page is for teams already running a support line: queue times growing, after-hours calls falling into voicemail, seasonal peaks forcing extra headcount. The agent frees representatives for calls that need a person.

From setup to a live line: how phone support automation is built

First you introduce your business: add products, services and frequently asked questions, and they become the agent’s knowledge. Then you give it a task: book an appointment, take a reservation, report order status or record a request. You set the steps with visual workflows, without code.

Then you test: have a test conversation, review the answers, and launch on your chosen channel.

Migration does not have to happen at once. Start with one call type, order status enquiries for example, route part of the volume to the agent, then widen the scope as results come in. Your number, carrier and CRM or calendar connections are configured around your existing infrastructure.

Call scenarios by sector

The measure of automation is whether a call ends in a result: a slot reserved, information given, a request recorded. The example conversations on this site show those results for several businesses.

  • Automotive: takes the test drive request, checks the showroom calendar, confirms a time and creates the booking.
  • Ecommerce: takes the order number, checks shipment status and gives the estimated delivery date.
  • Clinics and appointment-based services: plan appointments against availability, record rescheduling and cancellations.
  • Hospitality and rentals: notes dates, party size and villa preferences, then moves the offer follow-up to WhatsApp.
  • Restaurants: asks for party size and a terrace or indoor preference, and reserves the table once the customer approves.
  • General support: answers frequently asked questions and passes what it cannot resolve to your team with a summary.

Channels, workflows and operational notes

The same agent works by voice on phone and web, and in writing on WhatsApp and web. Whichever channel a customer uses, the workflow draws on the same knowledge, so the line and the chat do not drift apart.

The result of a conversation reaches you as structured data, so the record does not stay inside the agent.

  • Visual workflows: you define the steps, questions and conditions yourself.
  • Your own knowledge sources: your product, service and FAQ content sets the boundary of what the agent answers.
  • Human handover: topics it cannot resolve, or that you keep with people, go to your team with a summary.
  • Recordings and transcripts: recordings, transcripts and outcome records stay in your account and can be deleted from the console at any time.
  • Obligations: telling the caller that an AI agent runs the call, informing them before recording and taking consent is the business’s responsibility.
  • Capacity: concurrent call capacity and daily call limits depend on the plan.

Plans, the shared credit balance and the trial

Voice Agents and Voice Studio share one account and one credit balance. Agent conversations draw on that shared balance; as volume grows you can move to a higher plan or buy an extra credit pack. Plans, credit amounts and concurrent call capacity are listed in the pricing section.

To begin there is a free trial with signup credits: build one workflow, call your own line and listen to the result. Carrier and number fees are separate.

Frequently asked questions

Does the agent handle every call on its own?

No. You build the workflow, so you decide which call types stay with the agent and which go to a representative. Topics it cannot resolve reach your team with a summary of the conversation. AI output is probabilistic, so critical decisions need human verification.

What changes for calls that arrive after hours?

The agent keeps the line open. It completes work such as appointments and reservations itself; for requests that need a person, like preparing an offer, it asks the questions, records dates, party size and preferences, and leaves follow-up to your team.

Can we connect our existing number and systems?

Phone and system connections are configured around the infrastructure you use. Our team can help assess the setup for your existing number, carrier and the applications you want to connect. The workflow and knowledge need no code; custom integrations may require technical setup.

Are conversations recorded, and can we reach the transcripts?

Recordings, transcripts and outcome records are kept in your account and can be deleted from the console whenever you choose. The legal side belongs to your business: you tell the caller that an AI agent runs the conversation, inform them before recording and take consent where required.
